Steven Torres's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kass and I’m writing this on behalf of my brother, Steven.

Steven hadn’t been feeling well, he couldn’t speak, and was constantly having coughing fits for a while and had a doctor’s visit last Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Going in, the doctor diagnosed him with a cold, gave him a shot, and sent him home.

By Friday his condition hadn’t improved, if anything he was getting worse. Thankfully, my SIL, Norma, took him to the emergency room that evening. THANK GOD SHE DID!!

There was so much fluid in his body and his lungs. His PCP had misdiagnosed him with a cold, when in fact he actually had pneumonia.

But wait… there’s more.

After some testing, they found a lot of inflammation and collapsed arteries in his chest and around his heart. He had multiple mini heart attacks that eventually led to a larger one. He was transferred to Medical City Heart Hospital of Dallas. Now he awaits to have bypass surgery within the next few days or so and they’ve estimated his stay in the hospital to be another week for monitoring. That’s a minimum of two weeks of hospital stay.

Being the primary income provider for his household, they’re in need of assistance with medical as well as living expenses for the foreseeable future. We aren’t sure how long his recovery will be so any amount would be greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to reach out for any questions or alternative ways to help.
