Steven Wilson Jr.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Crystal Wilson and my wonderful husband, Steven Wilson Jr., has passed away on November 25th 2022, after enduring a horrible fight with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). He was a gentle, loving, caring, positive, joyful and proud person. He is the light of my life and anyone who has ever met my husband loved and adored him. He is truly one of God’s most precious soldiers and has touched so many lives here on Earth.
Steven was diagnosed with CML on July 5th 2020. After almost two years, the leukemia became more aggressive in March 2022. He spent his 50th birthday in John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore hopeful that treatment would put him in remission. His lovely son, Devonte Barksdale, was a 50 percent match for the stem cell transplant, so he was honored to be his donor. On June 7th 2022, he began his transplant and the cancer went into remission on August 4th. However, he still wasn’t feeling well and went in for a routinely check-up on September 13th and found out that the leukemia was getting more aggressive. While there is no cure for CML, my husband decided to fight. His doctors tried an intensive five day chemotherapy on September 19-23. He was able to come home for a few days, but his blood levels were too low and he was unable to fight off infections resulting in a readmission back into the hospital October 5th. He fought a tough fight and was able to spend Thanksgiving with loved ones. The morning of November 25th he was admitted into the hospital around 5 am where he later passed away at 11:45 am. He fought long and hard to be here with his loved ones, yet God had other plans for him. The family is requesting your support to help with the memorial and medical expenses.
