Hollick Family Fund

I am raising money for the Hollick Family Fund. Nigel Hollick (a friend of mine in the UK) has recently been diagnosed with terminal prostatic cancer. Although recently in remission, his lifespan will be limited. To everyone's disbelief, lightening has truck twice and Nigel's 13 year old son Thomas, was recently diagnosed with a very severe brain tumour. He has had a ten hour operation to remove the tumour and intensive chemotherapy/radiotherapy. Thomas has been given a 50/50 chance of surviving this year.

This has obviously had a devastating effect on the family but also has massive financial implications as both Nigel and his wife Harriet, are self-employed and now have limited opportunity to make money to support the family through this crisis and medical expense (Nigel is now unable to work and Harriet’s time is mostly used up looking after the family).

Both of Nigel’s parents died from cancer so this really is a family under attack (all three generations) and as you can see a very worthy cause to support, so please help.

All money will be given straight to the Hollick Family Fund in the UK to support them through this family crisis in the short, medium and long-term.

I am asking you to sponsor me run the 2014 San Antonio Marathon (7th December). To ensure you give generously I plan to make an idiot of myself and run all 26.2 miles dressed as a Christmas Fairy!

I have until the end of December to reach my $4000 target.
