Brandon Novak- The Veteran, My Hero, My Dad

If you know my dad, Brandon, you know he is a very hard worker, in fact, he has always had more than one job at any given time! He is the guy in his community who will literally give the shirt off his back!  He has always lived a healthy lifestyle,  strives to help others, and is constantly busy with a new project or teaching new experiences to others.

He is a father to 6 and “Papa” to 9 (soon to be 10) grandchildren! He is a terrific father, husband, son, grandpa, brother, and friend. He is a farmer, fisherman, and motorcycle enthusiast. And last but not least, my dad is a veteran, serving in the Army National Guard- Charlie Battery, for 20 years! It never occurred to any of you he people who love and care for him, could imagine at the young age of 52, he would suffer a major heart attack!

All the nice things I said about him in the beginning, well he is also very stubborn, and it probably shouldn’t surprise you that this man, knowing something was wrong (he is a trained EMT after all), drove himself to the dang emergency room?! Once at the hospital, his symptoms worsened. He eventually had to take a chopper ride to the nearest heart hospital, scaring the living daylights out of the many, many people who love him! He went through surgery and ultimately was sent home after a few days, to rest at home a few weeks before returning to work with restrictions for a bit until his heart could regain its strength.
