Help Koltyn get a service dog

Koltyn would greatly benefit from a professionally trained service dog. His application has been submitted with Buckeye Service Dogs. The first payment of $3,500 is due after the assessment appointment, which has yet to be scheduled. The second payment of half the remaining balance is due 4-6 months later, when the dog has completed training with us and begins team training with the client. The final payment of the remaining balance is due 4-8 weeks after the team has been together when we see the team is headed toward a successful partnership.

 

Koltyn was born with CP in 2013. He has been doing okay until recently. Koltyn's mobility is declining. His falls are increasing, and his leg pain is increasing. This dog will help him when he is unstable on his feet. This dog will also be a companion for Koltyn as an emotional support animal. It will help Koltyn to have a friend when he is feeling low about himself and is unable to do the things he would like to do. $15,000 is just out of the range of what we can afford for Koltyn's dog. Mom and dad are going to contribute what we can. Mom is working with government agencies to find any programs Koltyn might qualify for, but for the most part, we make too much money to qualify for anything but not enough to actually afford the things he needs. We had to take a bank loan to pay for Koltyn's wheelchair, so until that is paid off, we are unable to get another loan to pay for the dog.
