Stinker of a dog needs surgery to continue her busy life

Hello, this is Diane Cooper, along with breeder Mary Macy, asking you to please help me pay for Gemma's knee surgery, scheduled for May 1. Gemma was chasing a ball on Easter when she tore her cruciate ligament in her right rear leg. Standing on three legs, she still wanted me to throw another ball.

The surgery will put her knee in alignment with a plate. She will have six weeks of limited mobility and then should be on her way to her usual life of running the household. Right now, she stares at me with a ball in her mouth, wondering what happened.

Gemma has had an active life including a lot of performance competitions and recreational pursuits such as kayaking and swimming. In her downtime she rummages in coat pockets for leftover treats, climbs into the mailman's truck, and naps right where I want to weed.

I recently lost my job and cannot afford this ridiculously expensive surgery. Please help if you are able to. Thank you.
