Stock a Little Free Library with Banned Books
Donation protected
If we pay attention to the state of books, reading, and school boards, we cannot help but notice the recent attack on school libraries and supposed questionable reading materials. I have (see photo) a Little Free Library and intend to build a couple more. But, I'd like to exchange the current books (it's quite popular in my neighborhood) for books currently being challenged or those commonly challenged (according to the American Libraries Association).
As donations come in, I will purchase books from a locally owned book store or online from sources that support charities and update photos so donors can see where the money is going. All books purchased will be those challenged over the last five years.
No one has to choose to read the books in the library, but they should be available. I am an English teacher partially because I had access to books and went to my public library weekly. There were no limitations on what I chose to read.
Thanks for any help in this endeavor.
