Stockings for Kids. Christmas for foster kids

Donation protected
Do you remember the excitement of opening Christmas presents as a child? Can you imagine waking up on Christmas morning with no surprise waiting for you? This is the reality for many of the half million kids in foster care in the U.S.

In 2017, I started a charity project, Stockings for Kids, to make Christmas special for foster children in my community. As a competitive swimmer, I used my love of swimming to host an annual fundraiser, where people of all ages got sponsored or made donations to "swim a mile for a child". Over the past three years, I have raised over $20,000.00 which has provided present-filled stockings and other necessities like gym shoes, coats, boots, and duffel bags for kids in foster care.

This year, COVID-19 is preventing me from holding the actual swim event, because we usually have about 60 swimmers come out. Since COVID made this a rough year for everyone and this is my last year before going off to college, I really want to give the foster kids a great present at Christmas. I am asking for your donation to provide presents and other necessities for the foster kids this year (the home decides on the yearly "necessity" that we purchase with the funds). We need to raise the funds by November 15, so my team and I can get the presents put together by Christmas. Please help these disadvantaged kids to have a great holiday in 2020!
