Stolen and destroyed vehicle

On Tuesday morning at 8:00 AM I woke up to an empty parking space where my car once was. In the same spot, I found broken glass, which led me to believe my car had been broken into. I reported this incident to the Howard Campus Police, as well as to the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department. In the afternoon of the same day, I received a phone call from the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department asking me to come to where they located my car near the Louis Stokes Health Science Library. Once I saw how much damage was done to something I worked so hard to maintain, I was broken-hearted. When the car was recovered, it had been parked halfway in the street with the car's passenger side scraped and dented, the backseat window broken, cut up seats, detergent in the rugs, a tire off the rim, and an empty gas tank. It was all taken from me. The police left after discovering my vehicle and informing me. In the meantime, I waited with the car until the towing truck arrived. On the same one way, a white car traveling the wrong way with children, teens, and preteens in the passenger seat, driver's seat, and back seat came speeding by in the opposite direction. My car was already damaged when the kids came back with a drill and knife to destroy another vehicle they were driving and vandalizing. Having to stop working to focus on school put me in a very difficult financial position, as I could doordash to make money for my expenses.
