Stolen Car and Stolen Opportunities

Hello all-

On July 13th, 2023 on the corner of Lexington and Brooklyn in Pendleton Heights Citlali Valdes's car was stolen in broad daylight!! Citlali is Show Me KC School's newest and youngest teammate at 17 years of age. She was hired to help Spanish-speaking families navigate their school options and to help advocate for language access at school for families. She is working while in school at Rockhurst College for physical therapy. She is a graduate of Lincoln College Prep and an amazing kid! Citlali bought this car herself while saving for years from birthdays and odd jobs. As a teen she couldn't afford full coverage so only had liability insurance on the vehicle. She needs transportation to get herself to and from school and to and from work. She also drives her little brother to school and helps out her family. Our hearts are broken for her and we ask that as a community we come together to help get her a replacement vehicle. Anything you can do will help and we know that when we come together to support this great kiddo as she starts out in life, we can do amazing things!
