Stolen Toys for Children of Incarcerated Parents
Tax deductible
Two days before a Christmas party for 300 kids of incarcerated parents, all the donated gifts for the children were stolen from a U-Haul in D.C
The missing toys were discovered after Saymendy Lloyd, of Women's Wing, returned from her own Christmas shopping for the children and went to add those presents to the stash in the truck.
All that was left inside was wrapping paper and shoe prints.
Now - the party is a day away (Saturday, 12/14) and there are 300 kids in need of some holiday cheer.
For most of us, the holidays are a time filled of joy and quality time spent with family. However for children of incarcerated parents, this isn't always the case.
Let's do what we can to help put a smile on these children's faces this holiday season, and raise enough money to fill that truck back up with toys!
All donations are graciously appreciated.
If you live in or around DC, Ward 5 Councilmember Kenyan R. McDuffie says anyone who wants to donate a toy can drop one off at the Ward 5 office at the Wilson Building. (1350 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20004)
