Stone & People Peru Project

As many of you know, I'm a visual anthropologist and I'm working on a site in Peru called Saqsaywaman.  This archaeological site was the Epicenter of the Inca Empire and has been threatened by conflict for centuries.  Now, in modern times, it's under threat again by a conflict between the communities who live above the ruins of their ancestors...and the Ministry of Culture, who wants to preserve the site by moving the communities off their lands.  Our small team of anthropologists has been asked again to come down and use our cameras to help mediate the situation.  This research will determine if ethnographic filming can play a role in archaeological site management in areas where conflict is making communication between stakeholders difficult and/or non existent. 

I want to take a small team of people down to Saqsaywaman in late September/October of this year.  I need to raise at least $5K to do this.
