Funeral expenses for the Moccasin family

My name is Norma Flying Horse and I have begun this fundraising effort on behalf of my brother and sister in law, John and Dessie Moccasin who recently lost their eighteen year old son, Stonehail Moccasin.

On August 26th, 2023 Stonehail was hanging out with friends by the Missouri river south of Wolfpoint, Montana on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation when a young lady from the group fell into the water. Stonehail and another friend jumped in to save her but the current was strong and he was only able to help the young lady and young man before being taken by the river.

Stonehail’s body was recovered from the Missouri river on September 6th, 2023 after two

weeks of extensive search by Tribal Law Enforcement, County Law Enforcement, private, rescue groups, community volunteers, and the National Guard.

Stonehail graduated recently from the Wolf Point High School in May 2023 and was working at a local grocery store in his hometown of Wolf Point preparing to go out into the world to begin life as a young adult. Unfortunately my brother and sister in law are facing funeral expenses in the next coming days that they are unable to cover on their own.

I am asking for any donations big or small to help the family cover these funeral expenses for our hero, Stonehail who was taken from his family much too soon.
