Stonington Feeds Stonington
Donazione protetta
Help Stonington Feed Stonington through this initiative that will help support our local restaurants in this difficult time while also providing meals to our Residents that need it the most. Small businesses are the heart of our town and will need as much support as we can provide in the coming weeks. Additionally, local families are already feeling the impact through unpaid time off/loss of work which will lead to more families in our community needing support.
We will be working to collect donations that will then be used to purchase gift cards to local restaurants. From there, we will provide those gift cards to the Stonington Department of Human Services to ensure they get in to the hands of those that need them most. 100% of donations will go to this cause and every dollar helps us make a difference within our own community. Human Services will distribute these cards to Residents enrolled in their programs (Senior Housing, Subsidized Housing, Free/Reduced Lunch Program) and Residents that call in need of support as a result of loss of income from of COVID-19. Residents can also be anonymously nominated if in need of support as a beneficiary of this by any Resident.
We are not a non-profit organization, just a group of people from the community looking to help support our community in this time. This idea came to Peyton and I from another friends initiative "A Ripple in the Water.” The goal of "A Ripple in the Water" was to provide help to their community with the hope of inspiring others to do the same. We know many small business owners in town and how much the current situation is impacting them as well as families that have already lost work or hours at work. Our hope was to find a way to help support some of our local business and our families within the community. We hope that this also inspires other people to do the same, there are so many creative ways we can come together to #SupportStonington.
