Stop Asian Hate crime in Oakland,California

Hi, I’m setting up this Gofund me account on behalf of my 25 year old friend Sagar (Ocean) Tamang. On Saturday, May 28th, 2022, he was brutally attacked in front of Fox theatre, Oakland as he was heading to grab sandwich from street vendors after finishing work. While he was walking, he got brutally attacked from the backside and was left in the ally with only boxer,t-shirt and socks. His phone, wallet, pants, boots and long coat where robbed as he was left unconscious on the street.

The EMS where called and he was transported to Highland hospital Emergency department. Where he was treated for Level 1 trauma after being found down with facial swelling concerning for assault.

These hate crimes need to stop. Our hearts goes out to all the people who have been affected, injured and killed by this wave of racist crimes toward the Asian community. We’re originally from Nepal and longtime residents from San Francisco who just moved to East bay. We have the right to feel safe where we live without constant fear. We will be using the funds for medical bills, neurological surgery, trauma therapy and lost wages from his job.
