Help Support Goodluck

Summary Anugwom Izuchukwu Goodluck, 30, is facing unjust treatment from the UK Home Office. He has had to leave behind his family and his community and return to Nigeria. Goodluck is a masters student and dedicated carer that worked tirelessly on the frontlines during the Covid-19 pandemic.  The aim of this Gofundme is aimed to align with Goodluck's needs for financial support whilst he applies to return to the UK. Background Anugwom Izuchukwu Goodluck is an upstanding member of the University of Sussex Alumni, who came over from Nigeria in 2018 to study. After he completed his masters degree he worked and trained with an agency as a carer, offering his services to the local Brighton community.  An upstanding citizen he volunteered with schools in the city and with the Buddy Scheme and Language Cafe initiatives hosted by the University of Sussex Students Union.  He was forced to stop working amid the rising cases and was designated illegal. Subsequently, his application for a family visa was rejected by the Home Office in March. His selflessness during a pandemic was met with hostility and unfair treatment from the UK Home Office.  Statement for Anugwom Izuchukwu Goodluck "I plead with the Home Office to be compassionate and allow me to stay in the UK with my family, my brother's wife just had a son recently. I've offered my services to my community in Brighton. Asking me to leave the country at this time of pandemic and with the rising number of cases in Nigeria currently is like sending me to death especially, based on the fact I have no family or accomodation in Nigeria." What We Need To Do As Goodluck's situation is constantly changing we have had to update the Gofundme to reflect exactly what Goodluck requires. Goodluck is currently unemployed and facing financial insecurity and physical instability we ask you to donate to his maintenance fees.  Your donation will help to cover the flight to Nigeria and support him for 6 months whilst he puts in his application to return to the UK. Your donation will help to support Goodluck in Nigeria until he is able to financially support himself once again. What We Are Asking For Goodluck currently does not have access to work and unfortunately cannot himself support himself during this time. Due to the urgency of this matter we ask that if you cannot donate to please share the gofundme and spread the word. We need to raise as much as we can to ensure that Goodluck is not left destitute by this unjust and hostile decision from the Home Office is appealed.  A few months ago we were collectively clapping for our carers, please extend that warmth and kindness to a carer who risked his life to help others. Please help us to challenge the Home Offices decision.  Thank you for your time.  Any donation and assistance is hugely appreciated to help fight for Goodluck.
