Stop it where it starts!
Jeanette Foy-Wilson aka “Gladys” will be doing her last big event by driving her mobility scooter from Kyogle to the Gold Coast, visiting every Council area in the Northern Rivers along her route.
Gladys intends to raise awareness around domestic violence and at each of her stops, will focus on a specific theme of DV. She is raising money so that a DV program aimed at educating children can be delivered in schools. This program informs children about what DV looks like, who to report it to and promotes healthy relationships.
Gladys’ “Stop it wear it starts” tour will feature the butterfly emblem, with butterflies on mini stakes being available to purchase for $3. These butterflies represent breaking free from the DV cycle.
The tour will culminate at the Queensland border. We are hoping both the Queensland and NSW Premiers will join us in standing against domestic violence, recognising their are no borders or barriers to solving what is becoming a national crisis. We will also be inviting a number of people involved in the DV space along with all the politicians to join us in standing United against domestic violence.
Sponsorship spaces are still available, ranging from Platinum sponsorship of $5000 to Bronze sponsorship of $500. For more information about sponsorships, please contact the Patron of the Kyogle and District Domestic Violence Committee, Councillor Danielle Mulholland for more details.
Stand with us as we stand against domestic violence.
