Oppose Thames Water TDRA - Save Our Lands & River
Donation protected
Save Our Lands and River (SOLAR) is campaigning to stop Thames Water's TDRA (Teddington Direct River Abstraction) scheme.
A voluntary group, SOLAR is supported by highly concerned individuals and resident groups, businesses and charities in the areas impacted by this scheme — from Isleworth, through St Margarets, Twickenham, Richmond, Ham, Teddington and North Kingston.

Why we oppose the scheme
The proposed scheme will destroy protected local habitats and degrade the water environment. Tunnelling, shaft-sinking and construction sites will cause damage and destruction to acres of local nature reserve and parkland. Discharge into the Thames’ summer flows will threaten life in the aquatic ecosystem and impact thousands of recreational river users of this part of the Thames, including water sports clubs, open-water swimmers and anglers.
How we stop this scheme
To stop this scheme altogether requires hard work, as Thames Water is a company with deep resources.
While the campaigners are all giving their time for free, we need to fund professional legal advice and materials to support our community activism.
