Help Us Stop The Cross-Dock
Donation protected
2 weeks ago all the residents of Litchfield Park and Goodyear AZ. were made aware of a change in zoning request from Cowley Companies to Maricopa County Planning Commission. Their intent is to amend land use at Falcon Golf Club on Camelback road to commercial/industrial to facilitate a trucking cross dock facility at the location. They are doing this under a process known as the Military Compatibility Permit (MCP) that is a simplistic process with little requirement for public input. This has all been done behind closed doors. I believe it is time for the citizens of Litchfield Park and Goodyear to unite and hire a large scale law firm to represent "All of us" moving forward both to stop the facility and present a united front to all involved in the process. We have been thru this before with the racetrack. One of our residents at Litchfield Greens personally spent 60K of his own funds to fight it and have a say on size and scope of the project. He has already reached out to this firm, they are the strongest land use law firm in the state. The intent is to retain them, and put our collective funds 100% toward our cause. This will let the proponent know we are serious and organized and will not just get run over, at a minimum slow this project to a halt and push all of their timelines far to the right.... Residents standing up at the planning commission basically saying the same thing is important but only goes so far and at the last MCP the planning commission voted 8-0 it was up on 143rd. and Olive, again the west side of town.
To Maricopa County and the proponent. Please do not confuse our willingness to accept the sound of freedom from Luke Air Force Base as justification to run us over with 6000 trucks a day. There are things we're willing to tolerate for my country that I’m not willing to do for a bunch of “Out of state LLC’s” that have no attachment nor care for our community.
