Stop the Locksbrook Tip! Bath deserves better.

We are a group of residents from across Bath who are opposed to the proposed site in Locksbrook Road for a new recycling centre.
We successfully raised over £2600 and have now lodged a formal objection prepared by Context Planning.
Reasons to oppose the proposed site at Locksbrook:
--Locksbrook already suffers from parking and traffic congestion, meaning access to the centre and egress will be problematic, with the turn onto Upper Bristol Road being one of the busiest unregulated junctions in Bath
--the proposed site misses the opportunity to reduce the levels of cross-Bath car travel
--The Weston area of Bath already has easy, alternative access to the upgraded and expanded Keynsham centre
--The imminent closure of the Midland Road recycling centre is the opportunity to provide the eastern and northern regions of Bath with an easily-reached site
--the proposed Locksbrook site introduces a higher risk model of residents having to use stairs to access skips, a model used in some recycling centres but inherently more dangerous compared to the current site with ground level access: there are several reported deaths in the UK from people falling from stairs in recycling centres
--the site backs onto the Avon river, increasing risks of run-off and pollution, with the site sitting level with and adjacent to the tow path
