Stop the Sprotbrough Pig Farm

Sprotbrough needs your help! Concerned residents of Sprotbrough are raising money to appoint specialist planning consultants who can help stop the building of a Industrial Pig Finishing Unit next to our village.
This new pig finishing building just off folder lane will house up to 996 pigs for fattening before slaughter and store almost 1,000m3 of pig slurry, it will be situated within just a few hundred meters of many peoples homes, close to our children's nursery and schools, new lane playground & park, public footpaths and local woodlands. The operator intends to further increase their profits by spreading the pig slurry on farmlands which adjoins Sprotbrough village.
It is well documented that whole villages adjacent to similar units are effected by obnoxious smells, fly infestations, noise, increased HGV traffic and many other associated pollution problems. We further object as believe animals should be free to roam and forage not caged in these unnatural conditions which are breeding grounds for disease, we want FARMS not FACTORIES!
The current covid-19 pandemic has clearly shown us all the importance of enjoying our outside space, a simple walk in the fresh air was all we had left for most of 2020 so please please donate and help us stop this planning application.

Campaign funds will be used to appoint special planning consultants, seek other specialist advise and representation in helping stop this or future related planning application and/or appeals. Should we be fortunate to raise more money than needed then we intend for any surplus to be invested back into a local community project(s) for the benefit of Sprotbrough residents.
