Stop Warehouse Sprawl in Franklin Township

We are the Citizens Warehouse Action Group (CWAG) at Canal Walk, Franklin Township, Somerset County, NJ.

On January 4th, the Franklin Township Planning Board will hold a public hearing to review the B9 warehouse application. The builder is asking permission to build two warehouses, 240,000 sq ft in size, just 100 ft from our homes next to a designated Scenic Corridor. Your donation will help us offset costs associated with retaining a stormwater expert as well as other legal and technical experts to represent us on January 4th. They are our only hope to defeat or significantly weaken the B9 warehouse project. We depend on your financial support to fight this horrific project successfully on behalf of our entire community.

Below are two additional warehouse projects in the vicinity of our community in need of action on our part in the near future.

1. An application has been submitted for a third warehouse on Mettler's and Weston Rds. Its proposed size is 600,000 sq ft. This warehouse, if approved, will be across the street from our homes and only 3/4 of a mile from Franklin High School. The health and safety of hundreds of senior citizens, students, and teachers will be in jeopardy.

2. Yet another application is under review for a 450,000 sq ft warehouse next to the Elizabeth Avenue Elementary School. The well-being of 600+ students, grades K-6, and dozens of teachers and staff are at stake.

The warehouses will increase air, water, and noise pollution; they will also create serious flood risk in our community. The diesel fumes from tractor-trailers are a severe health hazard while the heavy truck traffic is a safety risk for drivers, bikers, and pedestrians.
