PRO(TECH)T: Fighting Rape on Campus
Donation protected
Sexual assault is the most common violent crime on college campuses. Every student deserves the right to feel safe from sexual assault. With this in mind, we created PRO(TECH)T, a social enterprise focused on reducing sexual assault on college campuses. We have designed a wearable tech wristband that, when activated by the push of a button, sends an emergency GPS signal directly to campus police who can then track the wearers location and intervene in a dangerous situation. Our product is completely cell-phone independent making it exceptionally convenient and easy to use in high stress situations. It provides wearers with what an emergency situation needs: someone knowing they need help and knowing where to go to help them. Our business is designed to not only to provide college students with personalized security but to also make a lasting cultural change. We will take a percentage of our profits and put it towards campaigns that change the paradigm of rape culture by teaching not to rape instead of how not to be raped. We will also have an Internet platform so wearers can start necessary discussions on the reality of this issue and how to change it.
It is time to stop the clock on someone being assaulted every 106 seconds. Our last barrier to product development and manufacturing is money. Please help us overcome this obstacle! Your donation and advocacy is instrumental in ending campus rape.
