Dear friends of Laku Boutique owner Yaeko Yamashita,
Thank you for supporting Yaeko in the toughest year of her life.
After 30 wonderful years on Valencia Street in her beloved Mission neighborhood, Yaeko at Laku Boutique is being evicted & must close January 13, 2024 as the building was sold.
One of the oldest artisan craft boutiques in SF, Yaeko created a magical world in Laku designing and fabricating every facet of the beautiful store.
Laku boutique is Yaeko’s joy, love, artistic expression and reason for living.
After making it 30 years in the Mission, surviving the recent covid economic downturn and getting hit by a drunk driver (the day after Thanksgiving 2022).....only this eviction will force the closure of Laku boutique.
Unfortunately, due to the car accident, Yaeko has been in and out of the hospital 4 times in 9 months & unable to work.
She recovered & reopened the store September 2023, determined to get back to work & support herself.......so Laku Boutique’s eviction has been a blow to her heart.
With her only income source ending, Yaeko humbly requests a final lift from her amazing, supportive community to help her live and keep her in her apartment until she finds a new work/shared space location.
(Yaeko thanks all of you who contributed to her post-accident GoFundMe Feb 2023 that helped save her from total financial ruin & losing her home).
Any assistance you could provide in this GoFundMe would go towards her post eviction: daily living expenses, medicine, rent (+ $11k rent debt) and paying down her enormous medical debt.
