Storm Family Fire Emergency

The Storm Family experienced a house fire on Valentine’s Day morning. Fire officials say an electric blanket was the cause (a new throw blanket purchased in the past year from Target). We all made it out alive, (including the pets) but are currently displaced because one room was destroyed by the fire and the rest of the house is smoke damaged. Unfortunately, we did not have renter’s insurance, so the costs of living elsewhere and cleaning the belongings are out of control. After almost 3 weeks of trying to organize the smoke abatement, the property owner has just said he won’t let us return until all belongings are removed and cleaned which is prohibitively expensive.
