Clean Water For Laos

The Story
In February 2016 a team of cyclists will be embarking on an epic ride ride that pits Man vs Mountain in a stunning Tour de Laos trip.  Partnering with an organization called TerraClear, we will be helping the tens of thousands of people in northern Laos who do not have access to clean drinking water.

We are a team of cyclists that will be riding over 350 miles in 7 days through the country on a mission to bring a sustainable and affordable water filtration solution to the people of Laos who do not have access to clean drinking water. 

The Facts
Laos has seen amazing growth over the last 30 years, yet 43% percent of the population still lacks adequate access to improved drinking water. The TerraClear Ceramic Water Purifier empowers communities and households to treat their primary water sources at the place most likely for re-contamination - inside the home.

The Need
Northern Laos is one of the most unreached areas of the nation. Many people here experience a life without the basic necessities that we take for granted. One of the biggest needs is for clean drinking water. The reasons for clean drinking water are many - it prevents disease, it is more cost effective than boiling water or buying bottled water and it is environmentally friendly; reducing charcol use and deforestation.

The Solution
TerraClear water filters provide safe, affordable and sustainable drinking water and is the first and only scalable producer of household water filter products in the Lao PDR. The solution for many people in Laos is to get access to these water filtration systems. We simply need to get them to the people in this northern area.

The Ask
The goal of our team is to raise as much as we can towards the $70,000 that TerraClear needs to pay for the equipment, vehicle and operating costs that will enable them to reach this new area and and help bring clean drinking water to the people in northen Laos.
