Storm's UC Berkeley Summer Program

Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Storm Wright and I am currently a sophomore at Grady High School. I live in Atlanta, Georgia and I have always had a dream of becoming either a psychologist or psychiatrist and opening up my own practice.

This school year, I placed 3rd overall in the Grady HS Academic fair and received the Creativity Award for my Science Fair project, "Does Astrology Work?" I then advanced to Regionals and received a Silver Key. I take all Honors, Gifted and AP (Advanced Placement) classes, and have been on Honor Roll all of my high school career.

I consider myself an activist, both for women and people of color. Earlier this year, I wrote a research paper titled "Racial Segregation, Education & Pop Culture: How Racial Segregation Impacts Education Through Art", where I outlined the relationship between Black Lives Matter and education, demonstrating how racial segregation impacts education through art and pop culture. Some of the individuals I look up to include Michelle Obama and Amandla Stenberg.

I've been accepted into the Summer Intitute for the Gifted (SIG) three week program at UC Berkeley. I plan to take courses such as Mental Health: Psychology and Policy, Biopsychology, Political Strategy and The Art of Making a Short Film. The fee is $5,095. This will be my first time taking courses at a college, and hopefully not my last! All contributions will be put towards the registration fees for this summer experience.

Your donations will not only benefit me, but they will also benefit both the community and my future patients. My goal is to have the full amount by April 1st. This experience will be empowering for me as a young woman, by challenging myself in these advanced courses and fulfilling my full potential. I believe that I have I bright future, and your donations will help me get a step further on this path to greatness. Thank you for taking interest!
