The Story House, LLC was founded in the summer of 2018 with the mission of bringing the community together through quality entertainment. Founder, Amy Kern-Smith says of the organization’s mission, “We all have a story to tell, and when we tell our stories strangers become friends, friends become family, and communities grow.” The Story House will host open mic nights, improvisational comedy, storyteller series, original stage plays, and serve as an avenue for artists of various mediums to share their talents with the community.
Kern-Smith plans to open The Story House in the spring of 2019. A space has already been secured, next to Café Bienville on John Sims Parkway. There is a lot to do to make the space ready to open to the public. Funds raised through this crowdfunding campaign will go towards readying the space, licensing fees, building rent and utilities, staging, and lighting.
The Story House plans to host entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as Sunday afternoons.
