Strap Up for Summer

It's been a little over a year and a half since we held our last fundraiser, which was an overwhelming success thanks to all of your support. We were able to equip 100 women with pepper spray and give them an increased feeling of safety in a community they should feel comfortable to walk without fear of assault or abduction, and we're proud and happy we were able to do that.
Unfortunately abductions, assaults, rapes, and murders continue to happen daily across the country, and at an especially alarming rate in Detroit, Hamtramck, and their surrounding communities. Since this isn't going to stop for the foreseeable future, it's time to step up once again and do whatever is in our power to protect ourselves and our fellow women.
This time around, we have a goal of AT LEAST 100 cans of pepper spray, to be distributed at bars, shops, and other locations in Hamtramck to any women seeking enhanced self-protection. In addition, we plan to host a few sessions of women's self defense classes at various locations in Hamtramck and Detroit. At the time of this post, we're still waiting for more information on the dates and costs of these classes, but we're doing everything in our power to make them happen as soon as possible and have increased our goal this time around accordingly with how much we think this may cost. Any funds we raise beyond what's needed for the classes will be used for more pepper spray.
We all hope one day we'll live in a world where every woman can walk the communities they live in at any time without fearing for their well being. For now, the best we can do is be prepared. Please donate if you can, share with your social media networks, and help us create a safety net for the women of our community.
