Steven's Story:
2:35 pm Sunday October 18th changed my life forever. I was shot by two teenagers which left me partially paralyzed from the waist down. Can you relate to your life changing in a heartbeat?
I am 19 years old, I did not have the best childhood, and I was just trying to get by day to day. I had just started working construction and finally making some money so I could get ahead. Now, I have more challenges ahead of me. Before my construction job and this happening to me, I struggled with shelter, feeding myself, and little hope for my future. Today, I am unable to use my legs like I use to, my football playing days are just a memory.
It hasn't been an easy life for me, but because of this, I would like to be an example. We all deserve a second chance in life. Even the kids who shot me, I hope they get the help they need and become better than they were that day, at that moment when the trigger was pulled. I know I can’t do this alone and I need help not just today, but also in the future. If you can relate to needing a hand up in a time of desperation, I would greatly appreciate your kindness! There are many things that are going to be required for me to be able to function normally.
Your assistance would help purchase a handicapped van, rental housing, medical needs, and many other items that will now be required for me to live my life. God has given me a second chance and I want to make God’s gift of life worth it and return stronger than before and hopefully be a voice and example for others.
I appreciate your time to read this and your helping hand in lifting me up to be able to live a more productive life.
I want to thank everyone for all the support and well wishes and a SUPER THANK YOU to all those that have been helping me daily!
Note: All funds are deposited into a Managed Benefit Business Account at STCU under the name "Strength for Steven Ray". Funds may also be deposited directly into this account at any STCU branch. All funds will ONLY be used for Steven's handicapped living needs.
This account will provide complete transparency and accountability to all donors.
Attention: This is Steven Ray LeBlanc's official fundraising campaign any other fundraising campaigns are fraud and should be reported as such.
