The Strickley Family

My name is Chris Strickley. Recently, my wonderful little family has gone through quite the string of hardships. My wife suffers from chronic pain that was derived from a medical malpractice she experienced during an appendectomy at the age of 16. The surgeon accidentally burned a hole in her small intestines with a cauterizing iron (without knowing) and stitched her back up. Barely a couple days later, this mistake caused a bowel obstruction and she was rushed back into emergency surgery where she only had a 50-50 chance of survival. By God's grace she made it through. Ten years later, however, she now suffers from severe chronic pain resulting from a build up of scar tissue. She recently had a surgery in 2013 to have some of the scar tissue removed to help with the pain. Unfortunately, scar tissue never stops growing. Which means she will have to go back under the knife about every 7 years to have it removed.

Despite all the issues from these surgeries, we were able to have two wonderful kids (a boy age 5 and a girl age 1). Our baby girl (pictured above) was born 4 weeks early and spent the first 13 days of her life in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit.

Up until March of this year, I was the sole income in the family while my wife was a stay-at-home mom. It was at this time that her health took another turn for the worst as she was diagnosed with Endometriosis. This resulted in her having to undergo a hysterctomy. Between this and her chronic pain, she was no longer suited to take care of our kids alone. Since we don't have enough available family help and can't afford daycare, I took a leap of faith and left my job so I can ensure my wife and children's welfare. We have been living on savings and hopes of making money from home. Unfortunately, our savings has run dry and our efforts of making money from home have been unsuccessful.

To complicate matters further, our daughter just recently got out of the hospital with a Urinary Tract Infection and I have personally begun to experience horrible groin pain. After being checked out by a urologist, I was diagnosed with chronic epididymitis and an inguinal hernia, which will require surgery, further derailing our efforts of making money from home while we fall miles behind on our bills.

The goal amount is only set as a ceiling. Because I am currently unemployed, we just want to gather as much of a safety net as possible in case I don't find work right away after I have recovered from my surgery. If you're not comfortable making a donation through this site, please feel free to contact me, Our home address is also 3213 S Holly St in Nampa, Idaho 83686.

Most of my life I have been too stubborn to ask for help. I'm just an ordinary guy doing all he possibly can to provide a good life for his family. Due to the circumstances facing my family right now, however, I feel I have no other choice but to cry out for help. Quite honestly I feel starting a GoFundMe campaign is a last resort. In reality, I don't expect that anyone will help. $5 given to me and my family is $5 more than I could ever ask for. I hope and pray you will consider giving. If you do, my family and I are forever in debt to your generosity. If all you can do is share this with family, friends, or whatever social media following you have, that is invaluable to us.

Thank you even for the time spent reading to this point. My family and I pray for God's blessing on your life in return.
