Strides for Stacy
Donation protected
UPDATE:
After a lifetime battle with Cystic Fibrosis and surviving a double lung transplant just 4 months ago she sadly succumbed to COVID19 and was called home to God Thursday, April 23, 2020. Stacy's whole life was dedicated to her daughter, Shyann. This GoFundMe account had originally been set up for medical and care expenses throughout Stacy's transplant journey. We are kindly asking in lieu of flowers donations be made for Shyann's future. We thank you all for the continued love, support and generosity. She loved you all and will be sorely missed. Thank you!
Stacy will be undergoing a double lung transplant due to her Cystic Fibrosis. There are numerous costs associated with transplant that she will need assistance with. This fund has been set up to disseminate funds to Stacy and family to assist with travel to and from the hospital(s) where she will have transplant (Columbia Presbyterian in New York or Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston). For one appointment in NY it costs almost $40 to park, $14 in tolls, and gas money. Being on a fixed income due to her illness she does not have the extra money for these costs. She needs to travel to NY regularly for appointments and when she receives her transplant she will go multiple times in one week. She is also in the process of being listed on the transplant list in Boston Brigham & Women's Hospital (she has better chances to receive transplant by being listed in multiple facilities) . Once she gets listed in Boston for transplant she will be visiting there on a regular basis as well and these travel costs will add up quickly.
These funds raised will also assist in placing her parents at a local hotel near the hospital in the weeks to follow transplant and cover their travel expenses back and forth.
All funds collected will be used for the sole purpose of taking some of the financial burden she has so she and her family can focus on her health and successful transplant.
Any extra funds not utilized for the above mentioned items will be set up in an account for her daughter Shyann to use in the future.
All donations are greatly appreciated. Be sure to join the Strides for Stacy Facebook group to stay up to date on her progress.
