Support striking journalists in Jacksonville

My name is Alexandria Mansfield, and I’m the growth and development reporter for the Florida Times-Union and steward for the Florida Times-Union News Guild. Our guild is going on a one-day strike on June 6 in a show of support for other striking news guilds under Gannett ownership and in an effort to secure a fair contract, for which we have been bargaining for nearly five years.

These journalists need your support.

I’m glad to stand in solidarity with guilds from all over the country on a work stoppage day. I will be working with T-U Guild leadership and members to transfer funds directly to those who will need supplementary pay for the day.

Funds will be used to make up for wages lost during the strike so that these workers can pay for housing and utilities, groceries, etc. Please consider donating and investing in local journalism as we demand for Gannett do the same.
