Stroke Recovery for EJ!

On December 19th, our dearest Eunjin suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. She was finishing a work conference call in the office when the stroke occurred. She immediately felt as though something was off. Her coworker noticed left-side droopiness and slurred speech which quickly progressed to a lack of motor function on her left side. Her coworkers wheeled her to the entrance while another called 911.

EJ was in the ICU for a few days and then moved to acute neurology care, and now in inpatient rehab where she is making progress in both speech and motor skills. She is able to verbally communicate her thoughts very well with a slight speech slur. She also has limited movement abilities on her left side. She will remain at Royal Oak Beaumont until she is rehabbed to a point where she can safely come home. She will need in-home care and continued therapies for the best possible outcome. Her projected discharge date is on January 19th assuming her MRI/MRA results come back clear.

She has great insurance that covers most of the cost of her hospital stay as well as the treatments but her post-care recovery will be an extensive process that will require substantial outside funds going towards mechanical equipment to help her get around her 2-story home in Canton. Additionally, EJ will need to take the time to focus on her rehab from this traumatic event without the additional stress and burden of transitioning back into work. Taking all this into account, we decided to raise the funds she'll need to ride out this hardship while she continues to recover. At a minimum, she will need about $5,500 to equip her home with the necessary adjustments to ensure her the best possible outcome! This is a big burden to ask and she doesn't ask it lightly. We are hopeful in her recovery and fervent in prayer that God will continue to place His healing hand upon her and give her the strength to endure the challenges and hardships that may follow.
