Stroke recovery help for my mom - Cynthia Burman
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Chase and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my amazing Mom - Cynthia Burman as she could use a little help during this difficult time with recovering from a Stroke.
On February 11, 2023, she suffered a Mini Stroke (TIA) affecting the right side of her body. It has been a startling/scary experience and knocked the wind right out of her - quite literally.
Having been through a few obstacles in her life (including being a cancer survivor) we (including herself) thought she would rebound pretty quickly - Nope!
The recovery process has been challenging as she has good days and not-so-good days. With the aftereffects from the stroke - she still has some issues with her right side and gets winded/tired pretty easily, plus the side effects from new medications with several changes & dosage adjustments. Not to mention Dr. visits, constant monitoring, diet and exercise changes, etc. Oh, and she needs to keep anxiety and stress to a minimum (we all know that's much easier said than done).
Due to this setback, she was out of work for a month and a half with only about 1 wk of PTO pay and the rest without pay. Just recently she has been able to return to work on a few hours per day basis. She will be increasing her hours as she is able to with gaining her strength back but it's taking a little time. She definitely doesn't need to rush things and risk another setback in doing so.
In closing, I felt it was time to give back to one that has always been willing to help, be it with her time, money, a helping hand, a place to stay or whatever the case may be - she's always been there.
So with that being said, any donation big or small will certainly help immensely and be greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. If you are unable to donate - no worries, trust me I totally understand. I hope that you'll share her story as it also will help tremendously.
All donations will help go towards medical bills, prescriptions, and monthly expenses as she gains ground and strength each day. For those that know her and even one's that may not - know that she is not one to be down for long and she is looking forward to returning to work full-time.
This has been a very humbling journey for my mom and I.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Her son, Chase - I love you Mom!
