Stroke research in honor of Chris Palermo

On February 22, my dad, Chris Palermo, was rushed to the hospital as he was having a stroke. Over the last seven weeks he has been so strong and motivational to all watching this process as he perseveres to get back to 100%. However, this time has shown me how crucial it is to have research and information on stroke prevention and critical care post stroke. Around every 30 seconds someone in the United States has a stroke. This impacting number is preventable and should be less. Strokes are the fourth killer in the United States and I am so blessed to have my father here with me. Luckily, American Heart Association is the top fundraiser in the United States for stroke research. On April 22, I will be running a half marathon in honor of stroke research.
