Stroke Rehabilitation Unit. Woodend Hospital
Donation protected
IN MEMORY OF BOB TAYLOR
In 2015 my dad spent over 3 months at the stroke unit at Woodend hospital. Aberdeen. With his hard work and determination and the amazing help and support of the staff there he was able to walk again and even got back to driving. Our hearts were broken in 2020 (during Covid) when he suffered another stroke from which he never recovered and we were by his side when he passed away on 7th June 2020.
Donations to the unit will help provide the extras to make patients' stay more comfortable, including games, crafting classes or even just a get together for a fish supper or afternoon tea. This can help with motor skills and communication and allow them to socialise with others in a similar position. Our Dad was there over Christmas 2015 and we enjoyed a Christmas party and he was given some lovely Christmas presents. In 2020 Dad spent his birthday in the unit and, although we sadly couldn't visit due to Covid we spoke to him through the window and he had cake and opened up his presents with the amazing staff.
With your help we want to raise as much money as possible for use locally to benefit other stroke patients and give something back to the stroke unit. Nobody knows when their lives or those of their family may be touched by stroke and it’s life changing and devastating effects.
Please give what you can, thank you so much!
