Strong in Brianna “Breezy’s” Storm
Donation protected
As most of you know my daughter the beautiful, brilliant, inspirational Brianna Robbins Driscoll; wife of Michael Driscoll, was transported to Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA via ambulance on 11/04/2023 with severe head pain and confusion. She was emergently admitted to the Neuro Critical Care Unit (CCU) with a Brain Bleed. Over the next 24-hours multiple tests and scans revealed a significant bleed, tangled blood vessels in her brain and a clot. She required an emergency craniectomy on Sunday evening 11/05/2023 to remove her left bone flap to allow her brain room to continue swelling without doing further harm to her. The bleed was removed but they could not touch the tangled vessels as routing around in her already fragile brain would be too dangerous. For the next three days she remained on a breathing tube under sedation. It was not until Thursday that she was able to speak to us again. The bone flap will remain off for several months to come.
Her hospital course has been complicated with highs and lows. But Brianna will overcome. She’s strong. She’s resilient. She’s a fighter. She’s Brianna! And, she has her very own Army Praying for her!
But her road is long. She will have MONTHS of Therapy. Physical Therapy. Speech Therapy. Occupational Therapy. She will have other surgeries down the line. We do not yet know when she will be able to return to work. Michael has been by her side non-stop and will continue to do so.
They need our help. She was admitted to CCU for 11-days. And even being moved to a regular room is expensive enough. Does she have health insurance? Yes. But healthcare comes with things known as co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance. As well as the fact that health insurance does have a max. Their out-of-pocket expenses are going to be catastrophic. Their dual income has been affected. Just because she is sick, their household bills do not go away.
We want to raise money to relieve some of the stress of their medical expenses. To help cover their day-to-day living costs. To cover the costs for adaptations that need to be made at home to make the house safe for Brianna to navigate. And as (bad) luck would have it their refrigerator has decided it does not want to play well with others and is acting up. Some money would be used to deal with this so we can also start a meal-train once Brianna is home.
Any little bit is helpful. But if you can’t donate, please continue to pray as we are FIRM believers in the power of prayer.
Her brother-in-law Pauly Driscoll also started a GoFundMe, (everyone loves Breezy!) Please do not donate to both as all money will go DIRECTLY to Michael and Bri. Neither of us realized the other was about to do this or we would have joined forces.
