Strong Women Strong Girls Annual 5k Run!!!

The University of Pittsburgh Chapter of Strong Women, Strong Girls (SWSG) is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization aimed to support the leadership and empowerment of pre-adolescent girls in the greater Pittsburgh area. We reach many different schools with over 100 mentees and college mentors. Each week, we volunteer to mentor girls in 3rd-5th grades in an innovative curriculum driven mentoring program oriented around a strong woman in society.

We believe the future is determined by the education of our youth, and as mentors, we learn a lot about ourselves and the importance of female empowerment. Not only does SWSG benefit the girls of Pittsburgh, but it benefits us college mentors as we receive guidance from professional mentors in Pittsburgh to navigate the world after college.

Our organization relies heavily on donations and fundraising efforts. On April 6th, 2024, we are hosting our 11th Annual 5K Run, our largest fundraiser of the year! This event raises money for SWSG in order to provide transportation, supplies, and snacks for our mentees. This support is what makes mentoring possible.

Each year, we ask our friends, family, and alumni for support to hold this event. Without these donations, the 5K would not be possible. Please consider donating today to support the success and continuation of our chapter of SWSG and the young girls of the Pittsburgh area.
