Struggling — Just Trying to Keep My Home

Hi everyone,

My name is Jose. This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write, but I’m in a place where I truly need help.

A close family member of mine was recently murdered. Losing them in such a tragic and violent way has shattered me. I’ve been trying to stay strong, but the emotional toll has been overwhelming—and the financial burden that followed has made things even harder.

I had to help cover funeral costs I wasn’t prepared for, and now I’ve fallen behind on rent and bills. I live alone, so it’s all on me—and I’m doing everything I can to catch up, but right now I’m drowning.

I’m asking for $10,000 to help me stay in my home, keep the lights on, and have some breathing room while I try to heal. I know that’s a lot, and I know everyone’s going through their own struggles—so please know that no one is obligated to give. But if you’re able to donate anything, even a small amount, it would mean more than I can put into words.

Even just sharing this helps. I’m trying to hold onto hope, and knowing there are kind people out there who care gives me strength.
