COVID-19 has brought life to a halt where restaurants, bars, gyms, and daycares are forced to shut down to contain the spread of the virus.
We are not immune to this unprecedented turn of events and our business has declined during this tough time. And fear the worst in the weeks or months to come! We believe we are able to weather the storm and be around when it's all over. However, we worry our team of 14 employees will feel the impact heavily as we have no work for them until business is back to normal.
We always mention to our employees that we may have the most beautiful doggie suites, the most advanced equipment, and the largest location in town; however, our clientele will always come back because of the customer service we provide them. We make sure to find reliable, hard-working, honest, and loving dog walkers, bathers, pet sitters, drivers, and doggie daycare attendants to be part of our team. Our full-time and part-time employees come from all walks of life and sometimes work 1-2 jobs to make ends meet. And we want to help them get through these tough times.
Now, we were lost on how to react to the bombardment of COVID-19 news, our business slowing down, our employees out of work, and everything we worked so hard coming to a full-stop on the eve of our 1 year anniversary at our new location. However, we have to give credit to another dog walking company (Bark Buildings) in JC for their initiative. Lets not get bog down by all the news and find the positive outlook to all this. They currently are helping raise funds for their community and team during this difficult time. And they inspired us to lead and help our community too!
To do this, we are putting together a meal prep program for Palisades Emergency Residence Corporation (PERC), a homeless shelter in Union City and compensating our team for donating their time. Strut Your Pup will match the initial 100 donations, but we are aiming for more, so we need your help.
For every $5 donated, the Strut Your Pup team will assemble a meal and hygiene kit for the PERC homeless shelter and any remaining funds will be donated to the team evenly for preparing the meals and kits. Please follow our social media to see our progress.
Thank you to our pet parents for all your support during this time, it means the world to us. We are still open if you need us to wear your pup down while you work from home. Or if you need a professional groom? Or need a walk for your pup while you run some errands? We are making sure to stay proactive and are able to do curbside pickups and drop offs to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
