Hello to Stu Jenks' friends all around the country and world.

My name is Kathleen Dreier, a fellow photographer and friend of Stu's. I am doing this fundraiser because Stu has been diagnosed with new cancer (stage 4) and cannot work physically. All monies contributed to this Go Fund Me go directly to Stu.

Stu is a fantastic photographer, author, craftsman, musician, humorist and storyteller. He is charming and folksy. He can spin an engaging yarn that brings us all into the fold of the stories he shares with us. We are all the better for the gifts he has brought to each one of us. Stu has brought each of us so much joy. It is time for us to help Stu and his beautiful wife, Alexa.

In his own words, this is what Stu knows right now:

So the good news is I am not apparently riddled with cancer. I do have stage four cancer from someplace that is causing the peritoneal carcinomatosis. But we don’t know where yet. Next step is surgery of my peritoneum, laparoscopic where they go in and take some tissue.

Pain management still isn't great. Waking up in bad pain twice a night and not being able to sleep on my side is not fun. At all. I'm pretty hardy, don't you know, but this really sucks. Got the opioids and the other meds but it still ain't cutting it. We're still working on getting the right mix.

Unfortunately, there are those pesky cancer antigen blood markers and that hazing in my peritoneum, so I have cancer somewhere. We just haven't found it yet.

That's the news. Still looking for the little devil. Still trying to dial in the pain meds.
