Student Survivor Fund

Sexual assault and harassment is a pervasive issue on college campuses throughout the nation. Survivors of these crimes seldom report these crimes for a multitude of reasons, but those who do report often end up not receiving the appropriate accommodations and are left with more trauma than before. We have been told by several survivors that a huge hurdle in their recovery is the financial burden that is on them after their attack, whether that be in therapy costs, legal assistance, or housing.
Policies and systems need to be changed, but while these institutions fail to work, we believe that this community can help each other recover financially so survivors can begin their healing.
Our current goal is to raise funds to support survivors’ emergent needs, whatever that may be. The money raised through these efforts will be distributed to survivors based off of how much they request through the Google form we have created for these grants. We will close the GoFundMe on January 30, 2022, and we will open the form for requesting aid on February 1, 2022. This form will be on our flow page . Our ability to allocate grants is directly correlated to how much we are able to collect, so we are asking the community for as much support financially as possible: every dollar counts!
We will keep a public record of every transaction on a spreadsheet with all personally identifiable information (PII) redacted to remain transparent. This spreadsheet can also be found on our flow page with our form. The Google form will open after we close this cycle of collections. We are currently planning on opening the GoFundMe twice a year, but this is dependent on our capacity and what survivors need.
