We are a group of Sudanese American students who are urgently demanding assistance from the international community for the betterment of the people of Sudan.
We are reaching out to shed light on a dire humanitarian crisis, where a devastating war has wreaked havoc on, and displaced communities since April 2023. Amidst the chaos of war and conflict, innocent civilians are facing unimaginable suffering, with many forced to flee their homes and left with no access to food, clean water, or medical care. Families are being torn apart, and parents are struggling to feed their hungry children as food insecurity reaches alarming levels.
A direct consequence of this war is the destruction of critical infrastructure, including healthcare facilities and water sanitation systems. This has resulted in an outbreak of cholera and further increased the death toll.
The Sudanese American Medical Association (SAMA) is deeply committed to addressing the urgent needs of displaced communities affected by these crises. An organization on the ground, they’ve sheltered over 6000 people, provided 12000 meals to children with cancer, distributed 3000 hygiene kits, and supported over a hundred medically necessitated surgeries including c-sections. With your support, they can continue to provide lifesaving assistance to those who need it most.
The humanitarian crisis in Sudan demands immediate action and solidarity from the international community. Your donation to SAMA will make a tangible difference in the lives of displaced families affected by the outbreak of war, disease, and starvation crises in Sudan.
