Students Present at Midwestern Sociology Society
Donation protected
We're a dozen sociology students from the University of Illinois at Chicago and we're traveling to the Midwestern Sociological Society's annual meeting in Minneapolis to present our own research this March. This is a huge opportunity for us, and we want to make sure we all get to the conference. Presenting at a professional conference like this looks great on our grad school applications and can give us a real boost on the job market.
We've been working all year on our research papers, investigating important topics like extremist use of social media, criminal justice policies, political memorialization, reproductive justice, COVID, gentrification, online "authenticity", and ADHD disparities. We're excited to share what we've learned with other sociologists, and talk with faculty from universities around the region about their grad school programs.
We need to raise about $500 each to make it to the conference. This will cover our transportation, hotel, and meals. If we raise more than that, we'll pay it forward and donate that money to the students who apply to the conference next year. Thank you for supporting us and our goals!
