Thank you for visiting our campaign. We will provide more details soon. After 17 years in the basement, dreaming of the chance to relocate, an opportunity swept us off our feet. Sometimes, the stars line up just right and we took a giant leap of faith and signed a new lease in a beautiful space just a few minutes away from our current address. We look forward to daylight in the yoga room, beautiful hardwood floors, fresh air, new energy, and plenty of heat! The location is easy to access from anywhere, 260 Western Ave in South Portland, over by the Portland Jetport.
Many of you may not know, but we have had relentless problems at 49 Dartmouth. A recent incident compelled us to shop around, even though we had four years left on our lease. Miraculously, we found a perfect space and managed to negotiate settlement terms with our current landlord. This was not easy and will cost us many thousands of dollars. We are asking for a bit of help to ease this burden.
Over the course of our tenancy Angela and I have spent close to $100,000 of our personal money on equipment, renovations, fixtures, and improvements to our space, trying to create an inviting, nurturing and hospitable environment for healing and growth. As much as we tried, we still could not overcome the structural problems, and the nature of a basement. Most of this investment will be lost in our move, but it is still worth it. We know how amazing the yoga is, and we know that certain (aromatic) problems drive our students elsewhere and frustrate those that remain. We are delighted to get out of the stink and into the light, and we know you will be thrilled as well.
Small gifts add up. Please consider chipping in to our campaign. Stay tuned for updates!
Much love to you all,
Michael and Angela
