Studio Scholarship Fund - Chris Maldonado

Hi I'm Chris.

    Musical institutions are wrought with racism, transphobia, and classism throughout this country, and abroad. As one music teacher, all I can do is try to bridge the gap, and make music lessons (piano or voice) available to those who cannot afford it, or those who deserve specifically to be supported in that right now.

Right now, that is very clearly Black and Trans/NB people. I will be accepting up to 4 Black or Trans students into my studio, FREE of cost to them whether or not I receive equivalent funds from this fundraiser. I also currently teach some of my Queer or BIPOC students for free, or for a reduced cost.  I need help to continue to offer this support to my current students, and also to possibly 4 more.   If you are Black or Trans/NB, email me today and I am happy to offer you a spot in my studio yesterday!

3.)  Become a paying student! I teach students of all ages who are motivated to learn piano or voice. I am experienced with adult beginners, and I have truly taught all ages. I need paying students to help enamble me to offer music lessons to those who cannot afford them. I currently will accept 2 more paying students.

All funds will go directly to me, so that I can continue to offer these services whether or not I receive a consistent level of aid. I can guarantee that I will not be charging a Black or Trans/NB student for lessons, or making them purchase books or scores.
