Study Abroad Funding for Maxwell Adair

College is expensive, and for those of us who would like to study abroad, the figures can get overwhelming. I'm using GoFundMe to generate funds for the 14-week Burch Field Research Seminar in Brussels and London.

My name is Maxwell Adair; I'm a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying political science and the Russian language. I have recently been accepted to a field research seminar in transatlantic security that I deem vital to achieving my dream of diplomatic foreign service.

As a high school student, I hoped to attend the US Naval Academy after graduation because I wanted access to an institution that would provide me with the tools to have a meaningful and positive impact on the world around me. Despite receiving necessary congressional nominations, I was ultimately rejected for military service due to hearing deficiencies.

Years later, as a student at UNC, I became enthralled by my studies in political science and Russian. My recent acceptance to the TAS program gives me the opportunity to apply my studies to the real world. This will be an invaluable experience that allows me to grow as both a professional and an individual.
