Study Abroad- South Africa Veterinary Medicine

Hello everyone!

 

My name is Miley Plaza, and I am a junior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo studying animal science on the pre-veterinary track. I am working full-time at a Vet clinic and working as a full-time student. I have recently been accepted to travel to South Africa this summer for a 4-week Zoo Medicine and Veterinary Service study abroad program through Loopabroad. I will be shadowing veterinarians, conducting medical and field research, and partaking in providing animal care. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but it is costly. This amount includes the tuition for the program, airfare, room and board, food, and travel expenses. I have been applying for scholarships/ grants and saving as much as possible to afford this trip, but I can only do so much as a working college student.

 

As many of you know, my goal is to become an exotic animal veterinarian and work with wildlife conservation at a global level, so this program means a lot to me!
