Study Booth for K-6 School in Lebak, Philippines

Help us create a vibrant and engaging learning environment for the children of Lebak, Philippines! My name is Nena Adalla Gapasin and my family is raising funds to build a study booth building for students at Adalla Elementary School, located in Badiangan, Salangsang, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, Philippines. Established in 2012, the school bears the Adalla family name as a nod to the land on which it was built, a donation from my late brother, Basilio T. Adalla, the oldest son of Aniano & Josefa Adalla of Lebak.

This project will directly benefit 171 learners, 109 of whom are from the underserved Manobo and Teduray tribes. These children face significant challenges, including walking 3 km in the mountains to and from school daily. Our study booth aims to capture their interest and inspire them to attend school regularly, ultimately improving their reading skills and overall academic performance.

SOME BACKGROUND:

Located in a remote, mountainous region, the school serves kindergarten to grade 6 students and is supported by eight dedicated, nationally paid teachers, including the school head. The parents, although financially disadvantaged, are actively involved in maintaining the school grounds, gardening, carpentry, and other essential tasks. However, their limited means make it challenging to fund the construction of the study booth.
